The Women’s Agenda Between Realities and Demands

Many international and local actors have persisted in their efforts to define the characteristics of the women movement agendas in Syria. Their goals and ambitions are many, but most of them have revolved around wanting to empower Syrian women and maximize their voices, mainly in regards to women participation in matters related to political and public life among international processes and platforms addressing the Syrian conflict.

This phenomenon opens the door to some pertinent questions; Is there a real women/feminist agenda in Syria, namely one that conveys the aspirations and concerns of the everyday Syrian woman? What are the characteristics and criteria of this agenda? Who participated in drafting it? Was it inclusive? …
